Super Mario Brothers Quilt BOM - Block #1

Welcome to our Super Mario Brothers BOM Club and Quilt Along!  Each month for the next year, we'll be releasing a free quilt block pattern to make this super fun Mario Quilt!  The release schedule and more information about our Block of the Month club is available here.  Fabric kits are available for purchase in our etsy shop and here on our blog.

Block #1 (April 2014) is Mario.  He makes a great centerpiece for our giant quilt and also just happens to be a great size for a quick, stand-alone baby quilt!

Block #1 - Mario
Finished Size: 54" x 36"
The Block #01 - Mario - pattern is available here.

We're using the fusible backing construction method and boy, can I tell you - this block went together so quickly!  Our tutorial is available here.  If you're using the same method, be sure to use a 2.5" grid for this center block!

Kits (with or without the fusible backing) are available below ...

  1. Love this, could you post your method for the fusible web. Also, which solids did you use.

  2. I'm not letting anyone in my family see this. I'd be making it for sure, and have a bazillion projects already to get finished!

  3. Yes, I'm the same as Lois - close the window quickly before my son sees it and says he needs one! It is lovely and bright, and I'm sure boys are going to love it.

  4. Cute quilt and pixel art is always so much fun! Thanks for sharing! Freemotion by the River Linky Party Tuesday
