Lectures and Workshops

I am currently taking reservations for lectures and workshops in 2017!  I have several different options available as outlined below.  If you are interested in scheduling, please contact me for an itemized quote and contract information.

My one hour lecture shares the story of my evolution as a quilter, from drawing awkward templates with my old school ruler and cutting with horrendous scissors, to my current love for mosaic and knit inspired (and increasingly complicated) quilts and our yearly mystery QALs.  My presentation is lighthearted and humorous,  and includes a power-point presentation with photos of some of my earliest works, the design evolution of some of my current works, and a whole lot of actual quilts  and the stories behind them.

Lectures are followed by an informal Q&A session and a Show-N-Tell with any quilts or mystery projects made with my patterns by you!

Please contact me for pricing.

I can teach any of my patterns as workshops in 3 hour or 6 hour increments.  Each student must purchase a copy of the pattern and I highly recommend that cutting is completed prior to attending the workshop.  Kits may be available in advance for those interested, but they are not required – please contact me for details.

A maximum of 20 students is preferable, but additional students may be accommodated for an additional fee, provided that there is space at the venue.

I can teach any of my Gypsy Queen, Beguiling, or Gathering (available after July 2017)  Mystery Projects as workshops as well – these require at least 8-12+ hours.  These projects are best suited towards a retreat-type or multi-day settings.

Participants will be provided with cutting instructions prior to attending the workshop if time doesn’t permit completion during the class, itself.

A $15 pattern fee must be paid in advance or onsite, at the beginning of the workshop.  Clues printed in full color will be handed out throughout the course.  The original version of my own mystery project will be revealed at the end of the class.

Price to be determined – please contact for details.

Mileage:   If I am visiting you by car, bookings will include round-trip mileage fees from my home near Sacramento, CA.  If your location is a significant distance from my home, travel by air may be required.

Lodging:  If I am traveling more than 100 miles from my home, or if I will be returning to teach a workshop, I will require lodging in a Hotel/Motel/Inn with a private room and bathroom.  If your location is a significant distance from my home, lodging may be required along the way.

Meals: a meal stipend is required for overnight trips.

Do you have a booking minimum?

As a general guideline, the amount of time booked with me must exceed the amount of round-trip travel time.  If your event is within 2 hours of my home, the minimum booking is a single lecture or workshop.

For overnight trips, will you lodge in the homes of guild members?

No – Due to severe allergies … and because I want to give you my best self during lectures and workshops, I will only lodge in Hotels/Motels/Inns during my visit.  Lodging must have private rooms/baths, with interior hallways accessible through a secure lobby.

Will you still charge a meal stipend if we provide food?

Due to severe dietary restrictions, I prefer to arrange for my own meals.  We can chat more about this at the time of booking.

Will you travel by air for your visit?

Yes, if there is time available in my schedule.  Your guild would be required to reimburse all fees associated with my travel.  More details can be provided at the time of booking.

Will you visit multiple guilds in the same location?

I am happy to piggy-back my visit to your area with other guilds if you are interested in sharing travel and/or lodging expenses.  More details can be provided at the time of booking.
