Join Us!

If you're interested in sewing along, leave a comment below or email us at Info{at}CorasQuilts{dot}com, just so that we can stay in touch.  All major announcements will be posted on facebook too, if you'd like to keep in touch that way.

Please make sure you email me if you're a no-reply blogger!  I recently found out I was, despite having changed my status multiple times, so feel free to email me just in case!

You'll need a copy of the pattern to participate in the quilt along - you can purchase it in our Etsy shop or in our Craftsy shop.

Quilt Along Schedule:

This is a relaxed quilt along - we all have enough pressure and deadlines in our lives, so why add to it? Sew at your own pace!  Feel free to work ahead and don't stress if you fall behind!  These posts will remain on our blog indefinitely, so just share your photos of WIPS and finished blocks in our flickr group as you can.  We do have a deadline for entries if you're hoping for one of our fantastic prizes, but remember that you don't have to have a finished quilt in order to win!

Each week, I'll share tips and tricks related to the featured block and I'll be answering any questions in the comments section and on our Flickr Discussion Board.  Our Quilt Along will kick right off with the first block, so use those spare summer moments to finish up your cutting.  Our posts will roughly follow this schedule.  Click on the title to take you directly to the post.

About the Pattern:

Last fall, I first introduced this design in wintery shades of grey and minty-blue with bright pops of cherry-red, featuring prints from Kate & Birdie's incredible debut line, Winter's Lane.  I called the small quilt "Aspen Glow" after my all-time favorite Christmas song, since the quilt reminded me of twinkling Christmas lights shining through foggy winter evenings.

This fall, armed with my beast of a new sewing machine, I'm setting out to make to make a gorgeous queen-sized beauty in celebration of autumn - my favorite season - and I hope you'll join me for the adventure!  I've re-imagined Aspen Glow in gorgeous shades of Persimmon, Taupe, and Golden Yellow, featuring Kate & Birdie's latest fabric line, Autumn Woods.

Fabric and Kits:

The materials list for both the single tone (Winter) and the dual tone (Fall) quilts is available here.  An annotated pattern with added instructions for the dual tone quilt should be available next month. If you've already purchased the pattern, you'll automatically receive an updated copy.

We have completely sold out of our Winter Palette kits and have a very limited number of Autumn kits in stock.

Even though the fabric was just released a few weeks ago, shops are already selling out of the more popular prints.  Cora's Quilts, however, was lucky enough to order the prints for a few kits and I'm happy to announce that we're giving our blog readers first dibs!  Buy them here on our blog before we list them in the shop.  You can purchase the kits using the paypal link below.

Quilt Size

Shipping rate is for US customers only - please contact us for international shipping rates.  Wall-hanging kits will ship for $5.80 so any shipping overage paid will be refunded.

A Note on Pattern Difficulty:

This quilt pattern is very straight-forward and really only uses a few different blocks - no special rulers, techniques, foundation-piecing or templates are required.  However, there is a fair amount of piecing and a large number of tiny blocks, so precise cutting and assembly is required.  Please let your own comfort level help you decide if this is a good project to undertake.

Sponsors & Prizes:

We have a fabulous group of prizes to award at the end of our quilt along.  Each week, share your progress pictures in our FLICKR GROUP to earn an entry into our prize raffle on 11/23/14.

All quilters who share photos of a finished quilt top before the end of the year will win a free Cora's Quilts .pdf pattern of their choice!  We'll also have a drawing for the following awesome prizes!

  4. ohhh I might join the quilt along!! Although I LOVE the new fall line by Kate & Birdie, I have all of the yardage to make the Winter's Lane version! Ya, I do! So I should sew that as you quilt along. But I KNOW I'm going to want the fall colors too. ;)
