Welcome back to our Gathering Mystery QAL! Every Friday I’ll be posting instructions to make a block or two that will come together into a brand new, never been seen before quilt pattern! If you’re just joining us, there’s still plenty of time
If you’re looking for more information about the QAL or would like a short-cut to the other posts in this series, you can visit our QAL Homepage here.
We’re coming to the last of our building blocks next week, which means we’re moving on to block assembly soon – yay!
This week, we’re working on some little half snowball units …
A few quick notes about this week’s clue:
- More stitch, trim, and flip units this week. The “Ditch the Pencil” post can be found here if you need a refresher.
- With Block 4A, you can easily sew both S squares to the L square before trimming and pressing.
- With Block 4B, you can sew both A squares to the K square before trimming if you remember to flip the first A square out of the way before attaching the second A square. If you don’t remember to move it out of the way, you’ll end up sewing over the tip … and having to go back and unpick things … not that I’m speaking from experience, or anything …
I think that about does it for this week’s post – progress photos can be shared over on instagram – make sure you use the hashtag #GatheringQAL and you tag me @CorasQuilts – or in our facebook QAL group. See you next Friday!
