Gypsy Queen Mystery Quilt Along – Week 14: Come Together!

Welcome to the very last post in our Gypsy Queen Quilt Along.  I want to take a moment to thank you all for making our first Mystery QAL such a success!  I can’t even begin to describe how happy and excited I’ve been to see your blocks on Instagram, our Facebook page, and in our Flickr group each week.  It cracks me up how crazy excited you’ve gotten about our weekly clues. 🙂

A huge thank you also goes out to the fabulous Pat Bravo, textile designer for Art Gallery Fabrics.  Her Artisan Fabric line brought my quilt design to life – thank you for the gorgeous inspiration!!!

And, without further ado, here’s the big reveal!  Introducing … Gypsy Queen!

So, I think the aspect of this pattern that was confusing a lot of you is that the blocks are actually set on point, rather than on straight edges.  Your Mosaic Blocks serve as the main blocks, while the Flower blocks are actually the sashing, and the Cornerstones are the posts.

But wait!  We didn’t make any setting and corner triangle pieces, right? That’s where the beauty – and simplicity – of those funky-shaped blocks come in!  They are the setting and corner triangles – after they’re sewn into place, they’re just trimmed down to size!

I hope you’ve enjoyed our first ever mystery QAL!  I’ve had so much fun that it’s probably safe to say that we’ll play this game again next year! 🙂  I can’t wait to see your lovely projects!  You can share photos on any (or all!) of these sites:

  1. This is just lovely! Thank you. I never make mystery quilts until I see the reveal. This is one I will definitely make!
