While I am incredibly happy that California, or at least Northern California, has officially escaped its drought-stricken status, can I just tell you how tired I am of all the rain and crazy wind? I am so ready for spring and flowers … I’d even settle for just a few days of sunshine!
We’re all going a little bit stir-crazy from being stuck inside together (and we’ve watched Trolls more times than I care to admit), but working on this pattern update has been a nice little spot of sunshine! The pattern was originally published as “A Gaggle of Geese” in the Fall 2016 Issue of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, but the title of the original block was Prairie Dawn, so I’ve decided to stick with that for our pattern revamp.
The original quilt finished at 76.5″ square and featured prints from Corey Yoder‘s Sundrops line for Moda fabrics. I had been kicking myself for not ordering the line for the shop … so you can imagine how delighted I was to see that the prints from Lulu Lane, her latest line, are a perfect match to the prints used in the original!
Our copy of the digital pattern includes the original 76.5″ Throw size, plus instructions for a 52″ Toddler size and a 102″ Queen size …
… and because I was dreaming in shades of Tucker Prairie when I originally put this quilt design together, I put together a few TP kits too.
If you’d like to make your own version, you can find the patterns and kits through the links below – kits are on sale through 2/20. Happy sewing!
