Last week, we added a super fun bundle of red and green Moda prints to the etsy shop. I am having so much fun cutting them into fat quarter, half-yard, and full-yard bundles … and it’s killing me that I don’t have the time to actually sew with these beauties right now … so I did the next best thing and had a little bit of fun giving a few of my favorite Cora’s Quilts patterns Christmas Makeovers! I ended up loving them so much, that I’m listing a few in the shop.
First up, is a cheery red & green version of the Diana quilt I made for my best friend last year. The pattern uses 10 different fat quarters plus a red accent print against a snowy white solid.
These classic Broken Dishes blocks finish at 14″ square. The blocks are assembled from Half-Square-Triangles put together 8 at a time and with some careful pressing, they can actually be assembled without pins!!! That means that this quilt comes together so very quickly – you totally have time to put together one (or even two) in time for the holidays!
The quilt finishes at a generous 85″ x 69″, so it’s the perfect size for cuddling up with a cuppa in front of a roaring fire! Kits are regularly $92, but are on sale for $77 this week. You can purchase them here in our etsy shop.
Next up is our super fun Spring Zing table runner. This baby finishes at 12.5″ x 44″ and is another super quick finish. I’m slowly amassing this runner in every holiday print imaginable – it’s my go to pattern because it’s so simple to put together and I love that it doesn’t have a specific top/bottom like some table runners. I love that it looks good from any angle in the room, and it’s such a quick and easy way to add a festive touch.
I love it both in the traditional red and greens and also updated in the “peppermint” colorway. Both kits come fully cut and include the option of a solid white background or a festive white-on-white snowflake print. You can purchase them here in our etsy shop.
Those red stripes reminded me so much of peppermints that I had to go back and put together a red-and-white version of our Whirligig table runner too … and I loved it so much that I put together one with all green prints and a mixed print version too. This runner finished at 43″ x 15″ and while those corner and setting blocks might look complicated, this runner is really just a one block wonder that’s trimmed at the end.
Again, the kits come fully cut and with the choice of the white solid background or the white-on-white snowflake print. They’re here in our etsy shop.
And, last but not least, we’ve had several customer requests for Christmas versions of our popular Northern Lights quilts … so here they are, both in light and dark versions! The quilts both finish at 64″ x 64″, and while they’re definitely not a “weekend” project, they go together faster than you would think thanks to strip piecing! The white-on-red snowflake print gives the quilts just enough texture to lend a very classic Christmas feel, while the spunky green and red chevron print lends a fresh and modern twist!
