Moonlit Paths Mystery QAL – Week 11

Week 11 – Onward!

Welcome back to our  Moonlit Paths Mystery QAL!  This week, we’re putting together our last block before next week’s big reveal!!! If you’ve figured out the layout after this week’s clue, PLEASE don’t share any photos of the full quilt until next week, out of courtesy to our fellow quilters who would like to wait and be surprised.

I am guessing that not many of you saw this week’s block coming – I did have more than a few panicked emails about whether or not the measurement for the P rectangles was correct.  It is … and it goes together a little something like this …

Definitely take the time to crease your P rectangles to line them up properly with the side units – you’ll need both blocks centered on the rectangle to trim them down to size properly.

When you’re going to trim the top top and right sides of your block, the 4.25″ mark on your rotary ruler should line up with the Block 1 seam, as pictured below.  The bottom-left corner should be hitting the 10.5″ mark on the ruler.  Trim, rotate the block 180 degrees, line up top, right, and bottom-left, and trim again.

Happy sewing and see you next week!

About The Mystery Quilt

Welcome to Moonlit Paths – our 2018 Mystery project!  We’ll be sewing together from March 2018 – June 2018, with a new set of directions posted here on our blog every Friday.

Each Friday, we’ll share photos of our blocks plus a downloadable .pdf pattern sheet with the week’s instructions.  You will need a {free} copy of Adobe Reader to open the file.  During the QAL, you can access previous posts from our Quilt Along Home Page, or contact us here to request to receive links to the weekly posts by email.

Is It Too Late to Join?

Absolutely not!  You can catch up at any time, but remember: the free instructions will only be available through June 2018.  After that, a pattern written in the traditional, non-mysterious format will be available for purchase in our pattern shop.

Can I still buy a kit?

Absolutely!  The kits are in stock and shipping out to US and Canada weekly!  You can find them here.
