Greetings and welcome to the second week of our Samhain mini-quilt-along! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be putting together this cute little mini quilt, with a parade of finishes just in time for Halloween.
It’s not too late to join us! You’ll just need a copy of the pattern to follow along.
This week’s homework assignment is to complete steps 3 – 12 in your Samhain pattern to assemble your left and right bat wings, and then attach them to their bat body.
Be sure to pin your blocks as you’re assembling them, and take care, as you sew, not to cut off any of those triangle tips you’ve worked so hard to create!
A few things to help you assemble this week’s units:
New to the stitch-and-flip method for making Flying Geese? Check out our tutorial for Stitch and Flip Success!
Need help wrangling those Half-Rectangle-Triangle blocks? Check out our Youtube tutorial to see how easily these blocks come together with the Tri-Recs Ruler Pair or with the template included in your pattern!
That does it for this week’s assignment! We’ll be back next Friday to start attaching pieces to our center moon!
Be sure to share your progress pics on Instagram, using #SamhainQAL and #CorasQuilts so we can find you, and connect with other quilters working on CQ projects in our facebook QAL group. See you soon!
