Crisp mornings followed by beautiful, sunny afternoons mean that fall is {almost} here! Capture the beauty of strolling through mother nature during her last glorious days of summer with our latest pattern, inspired by the traditional Arkansas Crossroads quilt block. Introducing Stroll, featuring Honeysweet by Fig Tree & Co.
I was getting a little tired of shooting against the same old fence panel in our backyard, so I packed up the quilt top and my big girl camera, and brought them along on our trip to the park this morning. Our littlest monkey managed a quick nap in the stroller {a miracle!!} while Dady and the almost-two-years-old-not-so-little Monkey had fun on the slides!
I love this pattern because not only is it quick and easy, but it only requires a single charm pack, ½ yard of a print fabric, and 1 yard of a background fabric … and it finishes at 30″ square – easy peasy!
I was inspired by Anita over at the Connecting Threads blog to branch out from my typical straight-line quilting and experiment with a little free motion stippling. I have to say that it went much more smoothly than expected and I’m pleased with the overall effect.
If you’d like to make your own version of our Stroll quilt, the pattern is available here. It includes instructions for making both the 30″ Charm Square mini-quilt and a 73″ Layer Cake lap quilt.
It looks so good Shelley. I can’t believe I inspired anyone.
Thanks for stopping by Anita! We’ve been working on getting the new site up and running … almost ready to launch! 🙂
