I’m such a dork! It dawned on me yesterday morning that I had a quilt in the summer edition of Fons & Porter’s Quilting Quickly Magazine and I never got around to sharing the design! Introducing … Wallflowers!
I finished her in July of 2015, right before Lori Holt’s Modern Mini line came out. The quilt was back at home with us shortly after the holidays and it has quickly become one of my boys’ favorite tv-watching-snugglies!
The quilt was original designed as a fat-quarter friendly, crib-sized project, but per the request of the magazine editors, I up-sized it a bit so that four petals for each blossom could be cut from a 10″ Layer Cake square. The quilt finishes up at 58″ x 58″ – which, incidentally is just about the perfect size to fit a toddler bed!
One of the things I love about working with Fon & Porter publications is that they always put together a fun little video tutorial to assemble your own blocks. I’m a visual person, so I always find it really helpful to be able to watch someone put the blocks together.
I think a new edition of the magazine is hitting the shelves any day now, but the digital edition is still available on the F&P website. There were a ton of cute, summery, kid-friend projects that are all pre-cut-friendly … well worth the $10 price tag. Hope you’ll check it out!
